Unger’s Lumber and Posts Ltd. is a small sawmill located in the Clearwater forest area of the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
We sustainably harvest coniferous and deciduous timber from crown source wood as well as purchase private and industrial salvage.
Unger’s Lumber is the mill for special orders. We receive various orders daily from 2″x6″x16′ SPF for fences or decks to 12″x12″x20′ timbers for use in industrial sites or timber frame projects. We supply customers looking for a few individual pieces of lumber up to corporations requiring tens of thousands.
We have been a family business since 1979. Originally only supplying fence posts but after repeated customer requests, we started a small sawmill. We now only run a sawmill supplying local industry, farmers and ranchers as well as do it yourselfers.
Currently the majority of our production is oil and gas industry related, mostly in the local area but also in Fort MacMurray.
We supply pipeline contractors with pipeline skids, pipe yards with timbers, drilling and service rigs with planks and other material. We also do custom logging.
For farmers and ranchers, the most common product is 2″x8″x16′ corral planks but we supply nearly anything they request. We do deliver with our own truck, weights up to 12000 lbs or we can arrange delivery with other commercial carriers.
